Silverwood school has been amazing for our kiddo. He's been there since kindergarten, and is currently in 4th grade. We love the mixed grade classrooms, and our kiddo says the teachers are one of his favorite things about the school. We love the mix of academic focus, and outdoor education. We love the flexible curriculum and that the kiddos can be challenged and work above grade level when they need. We plan to stay through middle school!

We've been part of Silverwood for a while now, since our daughter started in 1st grade (2018). It's a great school. The small class sizes are awesome, and we love how much time the kids spend outside. It seems expensive, but I think most kids get scholarships. The multi-age classrooms are nice because kids are placed where they need to be and not just where it's convenient. Our son has ADHD, and the school gives him the support he needs. He gets plenty of movement breaks, recess, and a lot of patience and understanding from his teachers. They stay in touch with parents and really listen if there's ever a concern.The community here is solid. It's like a big family. The kids are kind, and there's a big focus on teaching them how to handle their emotions and treat others well. The middle school kids seem really thoughtful and aware of the world around them.The school is fairly low-tech, and kids are not issued Chromebooks until middle school (and they stay at school). If you're looking for a school that feels connected, supportive, and gives kids a well-rounded experience, Silverwood's a great choice.

It is our daughter's first year at Silverwood, at ANY in-person school since homeschooling her first few years, and we couldn't be happier. The whole reason we started homeschooling is because we wanted our daughter to have more opportunities to explore STEM and learning in an environment that wouldn't crush her creativity or see her punished for being different. And then we toured Silverwood after a friend recommended them. That was all it took to see the potential for our daughter to actually thrive in a school setting, and her first year there has proven exactly that.The classrooms have a great teacher-to-student ratio that lets kids be seen. The teachers themselves are so accepting and patient, and the way they teach truly benefits kids with neurodivergence in a way that makes them feel seen and supported. I WISH I had that growing up. But it makes me SO glad my daughter won't experience that heartache. Silverwood cares about the whole of a child.From exploratory music classes to innovative lessons to fun extracurricular clubs (uh, D&D anyone?!) to the freedom to be in nature during recess, Silverwood is everything I could have hoped for as a parent who staunchly planned to homeschool entirely. I'm so glad we found them. My daughter is not only loving the school and all the activities, but she is thriving in the environment in a way I could have only dreamed of anywhere else. If you're looking for a place that will see your child for all they are and celebrate them, Silverwood is the place to be. Silverwood is home.

We have had a great experience at Silverwood School. What has been most impactful for us is that the children are outside multiple times a day, maybe 5-6 times per day. They play in the woods, eat lunch outside, have some classes outdoors, take laps around the building when needed, and are rewarded with more outside time. This is a wonderful gift for my child, who needs a lot of physical breaks, and I personally greatly value nature and the environment. Also, special needs educational techniques are incorporated into the pedagogy at Silverwood, as needed. There are both neurotypical and neurodivergent children in the class, and the school makes accommodations for each child's needs seamlessly. They are trained in this. They do not create different tracks of "general education" and "special education," where some children are deemed "normal" and others "different," which can impact a child's self-esteem. This is huge for us. My child feels great about herself as a result and accepted. I also know that the older kids鈥攊n middle school鈥攈ave a great middle school experience, which is kind of rare. Bullying and meanness are not tolerated. Children of all ages are taught to treat others with kindness and respect. For us, the small class sizes are also critical and wonderful. We have had our son at Silverwood since 2021 & couldn't be happier with it. The class sizes are smaller; kids get to be kids & be outside, rain or shine. The kids are nurtured & loved, seen & heard, & encouraged to be themselves. The communication is amazing. Parents are constantly being updated on what is going on, & teachers give you individual updates on your child's day (most days) at car line. My son comes home happy & is not just learning curriculum but life skills, including kindness & empathy. We love Silverwood!

Our family has been part of the Silverwood community for over four years, and we couldn't imagine a better place for our kids to learn and grow. The staff is amazing and supportive; they care about each and every child and family. We have found many lifelong friends in Silverwood. Besides quality academics, the school offers many community-centered events, like Halloween parties, Turkey trots, winter celebrations with holiday markets, and live music. There are many exciting field trips and activities throughout the year that all children, from the youngest to the older ones, genuinely enjoy. When I drop off my children at school, I know they are well cared for, and their voices matter.

Our child has been at Silverwood since 2021 and it has been nothing short of a wonderful experience for us. The teachers and staff are all sincerely invested in our child's well-being and growth, not only as a student but as an individual. Every staff member knows each and every child and most parents are involved enough that they know each other, and the other children, as well. Our child, who suffers from anxiety, has grown by leaps and bounds socially and academically since enrolling. Silverwood is so welcoming and embraces everyone who enters with open hearts. We couldn't hope for a better place for our entire family to feel a strong sense of belonging and community!

We have had a great experience at Silverwood. We love the teachers and staff and the kids get lots of individual attention with a teacher and an aide in each room. We also feel lucky that math is leveled for students, so they can go to the math classroom that meets their needs. My child's favorite part of Silverwood is the extra outdoor time. Between the long lunch/recess, Wheels Day and Waldkinder, she is in outdoor heaven. We feel so lucky she gets to attend!

Silverwood is an amazing school for kids! In the short span that my child has attended, he has excelled in all categories even the ones he struggled with. The staff is amazing and they are invested in the students! The empathy, drive, and motivation they provide are reflected in the mentality and success each student displays! Seeing who my child was prior to attending and who he is today, I love Silverwood and I am a huge fan! The outdoors fun/education, the smaller classes, and the extra programs and fun!

At Silverwood School, children are both encouraged and challenged in their development, academically and socially. Students are valued as unique individuals and given the opportunity to progress at their own pace, with support as needed. Silverwood's campus provides abundant opportunities for outdoor learning, and this is encouraged with regular excursions outside. Our first grader is thriving and learning to find her own way, I could not ask for more than a parent.

Silverwood School has been the best experience for our 2 daughters! We enrolled initially because of their ability to cater to each child at their academic level. This has been very helpful in challenging my children to keep moving forward and learning at their pace. Their approach to learning has given our kids such a great foundation to build on as they move on to middle school! It's not just the academics, the teachers and staff are wonderful in molding the children to be respectful, caring, and compassionate human beings! Quite possibly one of the best schools in Kitsap County. The teachers tailor academics and curriculum for every single student. Children are not forced to keep pace with their peers and are challenged in every way possible. A small close-knit community means my child joins an extended family every day. We love the school and can't wait to see our child continue to thrive over the next 5 years!

First of all, this school enrolls students from KINDERGARTEN through SIXTH GRADE! My son had a fabulous experience at Silverwood School. He came to the school from another local independent school that was not working for our family. He came in midway through his fourth grade year and his anxiety was overwhelming. The entire school staff supported him academically and emotionally. He was a different kiddo when he "graduated" from Silverwood. He is now attending a public middle school and is doing very well. Silverwood School gave him all of the academic and social emotional tools he needed to deal with middle school. Yay! I wish our family would have found this gem of a school earlier. I highly recommend checking this school out if you have a K-6 child!

Both of my sons currently attend Silverwood School. We feel they are truly cherished and challenged. We came here seeking a better environment for our oldest son who was failed by the public school system. The public school system labeled him and ignored him instead of addressing his needs and challenging him. Now he LOVES going to school and is thriving. Both my boys love to explore and experience unique learning opportunities provided by the vast grounds on the 18 acre campus. Lastly, the love between the teachers/staff and students is evident and we truly appreciate the experience for our children.

I can't imagine my son getting a better elementary school experience, anywhere. He has excelled at everything, and his growth in math is outstanding. The guidence from his teachers has been very affirming for him. He wouldn't be the young man he is today without the experience of attending Silverwood.

Every one of the outstanding teachers knows him as an individual and helps him to achieve his best work, in everything from math and science to art and reading. He is light-years beyond where he would be in a public school at this point in his life, and I know that the foundation Silverwood has helped him build will give him a strong base for success in his future education and life.

Silverwood School is changing my daughter's life. My daughter was lost in a sea of students and standardized testing. She was being labled as just below average but good enough to pass. She got the message loud and clear. She started acting the part. Now that she is at Silverwood she is learning to love learning again. She is finding her own pace and her own path. She is feeling her individuality and embracing what makes her special. This place is a valuable choice in our community.

Our son started at Silverwood in 1st grade and is now in 5th. The teachers are excellent and he is flourishing. His teachers have been able to encourage him to push beyond just "getting it done" and make him want to do exceptional work. He goes beyond his class projects and continues to learn even after the project at school is over. He is encouraged to shine, and I know that he's getting a foundation that will last him a lifetime. Private school is a sacrifice, but Silverwood is well worth the short term sacrifice for the long term results.

Silverwood School is a treasure in the woods. The 18-acre campus allows students to take their learning outside and apply their lessons to the world around them. Silverwood is a school that creates independent, confident individuals, with a sense of who they are and the difference they can make in the world around them. As a teacher, this is a place where I can meet the specific needs of each student and get to know them as individuals. Silverwood makes learning engaging and exciting by honoring student creativity and allowing for personal interests to be incorporated into the many project-based assessments. Silverwood is a place where students know they can always come back be welcomed with open arms.

I wish we could put into words what Silverwood School really means to us. Our child had such anxiety about going to school when he was in public school that he shut down completely. Now he is happy and thriving! His academics are great & the teachers know him as an individual. They know what stresses him, they know how to help him work through that...they know when to push him & when to give him a break. They believe in him and in his ability to become his best self. And when he has an "off day", they separate the child from the behavior...something that is difficult to do & rare to find. These teachers really do love the children & the whole school works diligently to build a beautiful sense of community. They are always happy to talk about the needs of each child & help us figure out how to give them the best educational experience they can have. When they say Silverwood is a place where children are "Challenged and Cherished" they mean it. I cannot say enough good about them. If you want your child to have a warm, challenging, creative school experience that will teach them to be independent & confident learners... this is the place for you!

Silverwood is, by far, the best place to get the kind of education that encourages continued lifelong learning, self-actualization, creativity, and resilience. I feel incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to challenge and cherish every child who enters the classroom and to work collaboratively with families through very open and consistent communication. Our close-knit community lends an atmosphere of risk-taking, empathy, and critical thinking/problem-solving in all academic subjects and character development. Our 18-acre wooded campus offers a unique environment for kids to get up close and personal with nature and find their true individual path. Silverwood is truly where creativity takes root! This is where kids learn to grow with grace and confidence!

My son and I think Silverwood is the best school in Kitsap County, without a doubt. My son is in his 3rd year. 鈥淧laying in the woods is the best part of the school鈥�, says my video-game addict who rather goes outside when at home. Teachers who truly care and challenge my son, are the reasons that causes us to forego other things so he can attend. My daughter has attended Silverwood School since first grade and is now in sixth grade. She has really thrived at this school. She is able to excel at the subjects she is naturally good at and has gotten help in subjects when help was needed. The teacher are in tune with what the kids need.

Silverwood School has continually challenged my daughter academically. The teachers are amazing in accommodating her individual level and truly caring about her growth. She comes home with an exciting story everyday whether it is an adventure in the woods or exploring "Noun Town" in the classroom.

My unobtrusive, bright son who was ignored at previous schools because "he was no problem" is flushing and really coming into his own at Silverwood. In addition the outstanding academics, the kids gain a sense of self and maturity which one rarely sees in kids this young. The tuition and 50 miles a day in driving well worth it!

Silverwood is a wonderful school where my son has thrived by leaps and bounds socially, educationally and emotionally. The teachers give him the one on one time he needs and we are so happy that we have found such a great place for him to be!
