- Notre Dame Middle School is a Catholic school for young women sponsored by the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
- Following in the Christian tradition, Notre Dame fosters respect, responsibility and sharing of personal talents, and prepares students for admittance to a college preparatory high school.
- In a bi-literate setting, with emphasis on leadership skills, critical thinking, and social justice young women are empowered to make positive contributions to society.
- NDMS is located on the south side in the heart of Milwaukee's Hispanic community.
- The majority of our middle school students come from a community bordered on the north and south by National and Greenfield Avenues; on the east by South 6th Street, and on the west by South 27th Street.
- It is a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood with White, Black and Hmong minorities.
- It has the demographics one would expect many immigrants, low-income levels, low education attainment levels…with many individuals and families not fully integrated into or comfortable with Anglo society.
