The International Leadership Academy (ILA) is a premier French immersion school in Lake Oswego, Oregon, dedicated to nurturing globally minded, multilingual learners from early childhood through elementary school.
Rooted in the French national curriculum, ILA offers a dynamic educational experience that combines academic excellence with cultural exploration, leadership development, and personalized support.

Serving children from daycare through elementary school, ILA combines the rigor and excellence of the French national curriculum with a nurturing, inclusive learning environment that supports academic achievement, creativity, cultural awareness, and personal growth.
  • At ILA, language learning is fully immersive and integrated into daily life, allowing students to naturally develop fluency in French while building strong foundations in literacy, mathematics, science, and critical thinking. In addition to French immersion, students are also introduced to Spanish as a third language, expanding their global perspective and strengthening their communication skills in an increasingly interconnected world.
  • Our educational philosophy goes beyond academics. We believe children learn best through curiosity, exploration, and meaningful experiences that inspire confidence and independence. Through hands-on learning, collaborative projects, and leadership opportunities, students are encouraged to become thoughtful problem-solvers, compassionate community members, and lifelong learners.
  • ILA also offers a vibrant variety of after-school programs and clubs that rotate throughout the year, giving students the opportunity to discover new interests and talents. Programs have included pottery, ballet, martial arts, cooking, robotics, American Sign Language, Mandarin, arts and crafts, sports, and more. In addition, our engaging summer camps provide children with enriching experiences that blend creativity, outdoor adventure, language immersion, and fun in a supportive environment.
  • Outdoor education is an essential part of the ILA experience. As both a certified Backyard Habitat and a forest school, ILA integrates nature-based learning into everyday education. Students regularly explore our forest learning area, where they develop environmental awareness, resilience, teamwork, and a deep appreciation for the natural world through hands-on outdoor activities and exploration.
